A successful vehicle wrap should never be seen. It sounds odd, but creating a well done vehicle wrap means that while the graphics are eye catching and attention grabbing, the wrap itself should be as hidden as possible, letting the design shine. One of the more challenging aspects of a well done vehicle wrap is creating this visually seamless surface. Brands Imaging factors a lot of variables into the wrapping process in order to achieve the best, most seamless graphic possible.
One of the first things considered is the vehicle. While many of the structural elements (ie. grates, door handles) may seem like obstacles, they can often provide perfect spaces to bury seams. We take careful measurements in order to create an accurate template of the vehicle. This is an important step, especially for vehicle wraps designed in-house, as it lays the foundation for the entire vehicle wrap. The template is used as a map, allowing our team to pinpoint the best areas to hide seams for each specific wrap.
The design of the vehicle wrap is also an important element of a seamless appearance. Working with the vehicle template, the design of a wrap can be adjusted to avoid serious problem areas where a seamless effect cannot be achieved. On the other hand, adjusting the design so that main graphic components fall near naturally seamed areas of the vehicle can make the installation job go much smoother and faster.
Take Local215: This grate on their food truck might look like a challenge worth avoiding, but Brands Imaging took it as an opportunity to create a unique and seamless graphic. Utilizing the outer edges of the grate to bury seams, we created a great vehicle wrap without having to sacrifice any design elements or scale back on the imagery used. The result? A great looking vehicle wrap!
