These Brands Imaging supplied smart car graphics were installed at our large format printing company in Philadelphia by 3M Certified graphic installers.
Small cars are tricky and not like other vehicles when it comes to design and installation and this is a bit of “how to” when it comes to that
Smart Car Design:This is the first vehicle for Burns & McBride by Brands Imaging. The design needed to be on point and eye catching. As you can see, this one really hits the mark. So these tiny two passenger vehicles are so small that you’d think the graphic designer will have an easy time, right? Wrong! Any college advertising class will tell you that less is more. This situation is exactly where that comes into play. These cars are so small that when you pack too much information in it will get lost. A vehicle wrap should get some basic points across quickly. When a potential customer only has 3 seconds to see your vehicle wrap they need to know: • who you are • what you do (this should be either a part of your logo or 1 statement or tagline) • how to contact you • see photographic or illustrative messaging that supports the above Purchasing a vehicle wrap for your smart car can be overwhelming but you should trust your large format printing company to design your graphics and allow them to guide you in the right direction.
Smart Car Wrap Installation:We have to piggyback on the design portion of this project. Small vehicles are not only hard to design for but they’re also hard to wrap. Large format printing companies in Philadelphia and all around the world have their own techniques on how to tackle these projects but it’s not easy. Even though vinyl vehicle wrap material is made to go around complex curves and shapes there are still things to look out for. Stretched out words, Loss of color and panels not lining up are common mistakes when wrapping all vehicles, especially small ones. So……. if things get bad and for SOME reason you cannot use Brands Imaging for your Smart Car wrap then here are some things you should be checking on when selecting a large format printing company: • Make sure your vehicle wrap provider has a climate controlled print and install environment • Always use a 3M Certified company and research their credentials • Make sure your large format company has in-house staff that there everyday to repair potential problems and make repairs if needed • The shop you’re choosing should have printing capabilities on-site for color proofing and expedited turn around times when needed.
So now that things are all packed up around here………Don’t forget that we offer door to door service!!!!
Let’s start digging into the facts.Wallpaper itself is an art and a product that has been around since the 1700’s and is thriving now in a major way. A huge advancement into the interior design and custom home market has been producing custom wallpaper. So, if you have your mind stuck in the history books and think you need a giant machine to get get custom wallpaper think again! Here are some things about custom wallpaper that you didn’t know. •it can be designed by any graphic designer excelled in this area of creating patterns. •can be printed on a variety of material from normal paper to canvas and textile •your local large format printer (with the right machines) can produce wallpaper for you •can be a DIY but we suggest a paperhanger or graphics installer
Printing: What Can I expect? So you decide you want to explore wallpaper printing and need some details. First you need to categorize yourself. Are you an interior designer, graphic designer, branding agency, marketing agency, event company, public relations firm, reseller, wallpaper company or just a consumer? Next you should use this leverage a try to develop a relationship with a large format printing company that you can trust. Typically we always suggest working with a 3M Certified Graphics Installation firm. You’ll find these companies usually have their act together by way of printing and graphics which usually will encompass wallpaper printing.
Materials: What’s the difference? The first thing someone who’s purchasing wallpaper should understand is that all materials are not created equal. If it’s cheap, there must be a reason. Typically, large format printing companies that are producing wallpaper on limited runs for specialty projects will be using a thicker, canvas-like material. This material can come in a smooth finish, linen texture or perhaps some more rough and durable. It is really up to the user but you can trust that these materials will be a real show stopper for your environment.
Design:So people ask us all the time if we do custom wallpaper or custom wall murals and if there is a difference. The answer is….kind of! The greatest difference here is the design. Custom wall murals, like the image above usually focus around a larger focal point and usually have no repetitive patterns. This can be anything from a photograph to an abstract image. Wallpaper usually focuses on a repetitive pattern but designers have been pushing the boundaries of design and really coming up with some incredible concepts for end users. Custom Wallpaper and Wall Murals – Is there a Difference?!?
Many people think there is a difference between custom wallpaper and custom wall murals. I guess it really depends on who you ask. If you walk into an Interior Designer’s office they’ll probably tell you one thing. If you call a large format print shop I’m pretty sure they’ll tell you something different.
Here are some characteristics of both custom wallpaper and custom wall murals:
- custom tailored to the customers liking
- professional design
- more expensive than something “off the shelf”
- sized to fit your space
So if you see, at first glance custom wallpaper and custom wall murals are really kind of the same. They are special, one-off large format prints that are designed and created specifically for a customer. When purchasing large format printing like wallpaper or murals you should expect superior service and have this project really feel like it’s worth its weight in gold…..or paper! I guess the point is that there is much debate over the difference between the two and really they are very much the same. Let’s try to but some space between the two and who uses them.
- architects for residential and commercial spaces
- usually installed by “paper hangers”
- interior designers are really making custom wallpaper “in” again
- repetitive design that flow
Custom Wall Murals
- usually designed for themed rooms or commercial spaces
- digital wall murals are sometimes thought to be a replacement for hand painted murals
- thought to be best suited for commercial spaces
The reality is that wallpaper and murals have been around for a long time and are now making a huge comeback in a variety of environments. Great examples of where you’d see these pieces at but never think twice would be commercial graphics for universities and colleges, custom wallpaper for supermarkets and franchises, custom wall murals for professional sports teams, nightclub wallpaper, restaurant custom wallpaper and many more locations that benefit from custom branded walls and spaces.
